I am planning to move to NYC as i along with my husband work in the same company in NYC and we work long hours therefore we would like to move from Bronx -Phelam Bay to NYC to reduce the commute time and also to enjoy the city life since BRONX is quiet dead..

Our budget is around $1500 for a 1 bed room apt.. or a large studio .. i tried various brokers but they expect us to shed atleast $1800 for 1 BR apt which is a lot for us at this stage.. they suggested us to move to other areas close to Inwood or Harlem which we denied .. but someone told us other areas are safe like washington heights etc.

Please advice good clean and safe area for us to move within our budget.

I don't understand -- you live in NYC (Bronx) but you are asking about moving to NYC?

Do you mean you want to move to Manhattan?

I'd suggest most of Inwood over Washington Heights.

Those prices are about right...you're not going to find much of anything less costly, since you want one bedroom.

inwood, harlem, and washington heights all have safe areas. however its a block-by-block basis, and you would have to check each address individually to see what your comfort level is.
