I saw some other posts that were dated a while back but wanted to get some recent information on what the safety was like around the Morgan Stop later in the evening or in general. I found a great place there but want to know what kind of scene it is? What it is like coming home from the bar at night? If biking out to bars later is normal and safe etc....

Also any reviews on the building OfficeOpps?

-thanks,

I think there was a post less than 2 weeks old. I was there once around 8pm, it was a bit sketchy for my tastes

The real issue with the Morgan L stop is that it's pretty desolate right near where the subway stop lets people out, onto the street. There is sidewalk traffic at various points when people are leaving the train, but overall, the area is somewhat quiet, compared to other L stop stations.
There are some housing projects to the west, near Bushwick Ave, but this area generally surrounding the Morgan stop is a mix of warehouse turned loft, and industrial areas--with a couple of pockets of residential.

I used to live in the Bushwick Houses, which is not that far west from the train station (actually, the Borinquen Houses are immediately west from there), and that area was definitely grimy, especially at night. Before I moved south, I noticed that they were trying to upgrade the area. But it was still warehouses and stuff that had been refurbished into lofts, and some affordable housing sprinkled around. I never had a problem walking through there, but then again, I'm 6-3 and close to 300 lbs. Not the best area to be in.
