Isn't this strange? Someone starts a thread declaring their interest in moving to New York City, and before you know it, it's turned into a suburban promotional campaign.
I want to move out of Boston , MA; and find a nice family friendly neighborhood in NYC, I would like some suggestions on what neighborhoods are pretty decent. I currently pay 1300.00 for rent now not including utlities, so I would like something around the price.
How many people? Are you moving with your kids/spouse, or you just want a family friendly area? We need more info than this. $1300 you can find a 1 bedroom, but it's going to be hard to find a 2 bedroom + with that budget. More information would help. There are MANY family friendly areas in NYC..Where would you be working? What do you want your neighborhood to be like? Will you have a car? Are you familiar with NYC at all?
The OP followed up and said they were looking into Jersey, and they want a good school system. $1300 in a good school district is not going to be a 2BR, even in an outer borough. So, it's not suburban promotion, but answering the query of someone looking into all alternatives, and Jersey has more of them in this situation.
