The Yankee Franchise is a great example of what an unlimited budget can achieve. But there are limits to big spending all around us. Sometimes one can't spend one's way out of bad situations. Ask Uncle Sam what he's trying to do with the economy. Ask Bloomberg if he thinks big spending alone without the right economic fundamentals will achieve anything.

Ask the honest Yankee fans if big spending of the last few years alone is going to make that a 27.

I'd rather watch a team with talent and decent wages go all the way and surprise me than watch a bunch of overhyped, overpaid, overrated players with an owner to match coming up short.

Legends alone don't do it in the 21st century. Like the Lone Ranger, John Wayne, and countless old hands of the West, the Bambino has ridden off into the sunset.

Mets fan! ALWAYS TRUE TO THE ORANGE AND BLUE! I like the Yanks' history and pride, but I can't STAND SOME of their fans ( a là Super Mario) rude, loud, obnoxious arrogant. Yeah, you won 26 WS, the Montréal Canadiens won 24 Stanley Cups, and you don't see their fans bragging ( for the most part). However, I think the Mets are going to be a good team in the future. Is this going to be the 80's again?

Proves that even the Yanks can once in a while get good people rooting for them.

sorry analytical..you too had the courage to identify yourself as a Yankee fan. So that makes at least two good fans.

I've got to meet the two of you when the new Mets Stadium is completed and after we've added another trophy and show you the error of your ways.

Yankees.
Yes, I'm from Queens, but I'm also a Jets and Nets fan.
If I also added the Mets to that list, I'd probably be depressed 12 months a year.

Yankees and I'm old enough to remember when Mel Hall, Roberto Kelly, Jesse Barfield comprised the outfield.
