Sounds like you guys need to go invest in a police scanner. Like I said earlier I believe that crime is indeed stagnant, if not declining slightly. I do think however there is some number fuging going on. Crown Heights for example was dropping in crimes, and about two years ago before the crime stats were to be released, Bloomberg flooded the neighborhood with cops, in order to claim responsibility for the crime drop due to police intervention rather than the neighborhood just cooling down on its own.

Wow, didn't know about that. Very interesting how far he would go to make himself look great.

So what makes you think crime is a bit stagnant this year? Just asking. I know the East Coast, in general, had a busy winter, but soon after things picked up in NY like nothing. Just aksing.

lol, what did he go and shoot up the places? just kidding of course. I still laugh when people say Harlem is a great/safe place... yes, it's improved slightly, but it's still not paradise or wonderland, and it's still one of the worst neighborhoods in New York.

No matter how fast the gentrifcation rate is you can't erase the crime-ridden past easily especially in a case like Harlem where it really deteriorated to the point of hopelessness from the 70s to 90s.

Ya lol thats what i was thinking too. Like whenever someone asks about Harlem the majority of people say its been gentrified and you dont have to worry but then I hope over to the newsmap and see more than one shooting pretty much every night this week lol.

Wow, that's the first shooting I've seen REPORTED in that area of Queens ever. It's not really surprising at all, it's a pretty shady area, on the edge of Lefrak City.. just don't ever see it on the crime map.
