Don't be alarmed or concerned by the contrasts. Many times artists are in occupations one least associates with artisitic talent. The reason ofttimes is that many realise the arduous path to becoming a successful artist and, unless born with a silver spoon, need to have a soild backup career to fall back on. And sometimes one can end up liking the"day job" and decide to pursue both the passion and the practical for one's life span.

I speak from experience as I am an accountant, an adjunct instructor...and an aspiring writer...and I've ended up enjoying all three!!!

I agree. I've done things in my life that are really unrelated to one another . Played college hockey and now i'm a teacher, write/draw on the side, i've been playing the drums since I was 13 and hope to be in a band someday, and I want to do psychic readings for people one day. I hope I'll be successful in one of those things someday (with the exception of teaching, since i'm doing that now).

From reading your posts I can see where you will succeed at anything you do - and you seem to be talented in a variety of areas. If you ever need a client for psychic readings let me know - but be forewarned that the last person who tried to read me is now recuperating in Bellevue and in need for her own pyschic.

Im a Multi-Fund Manager at a hedge fund downtown...Job pays well, but comes with alot of stress (even more with this economy)....Only way a person could handle this job is they would have to love managing money and markets...

Which leads me to a tip for everyone.....If you dont LOVE you job meaning if what your doing doesnt peak your interests then it will never work, I dont care how much money you making.

Do what you love doing (career wise) you will find your able to handle stress much better and even welcome challenges that bring a little stress from time to time.
