I was hired by the nyc parks dept as a PPA. WHen I went to fill out my paper work there was one pay rate written on my contract. I was hired as an seasonal employee and my site was suppose to be on randalls island. I am now taking over for one person that was also an seasonal. She told me she was making a bit over 10 dollars per hr. According to my rate I am no where near that I am at least making 18. I just want to be sure that I will be making the same rate that I agreed upon when I submitted my paper work. Or will they change my rate with out

Good question. If you were a permanent employee covered by a union contract, the answer would most likely be no. But as a seasonal employee, my guess is that they will definitely be able to pay you whatever they want.
