If you don't mind a trek out to Manhasset, Country Curtains has a store there. They also have a large selection online and in their catalog. They even have a decent selection of blackout curtains and drapes, which are a must for people like me who need absolute darkness in the bedroom to stay asleep.

As bmwguydc says, if you don't mind traveling to the 'burbs, Fortunoff is excellent.

Their stores are in White Plains (Westchester), Westbury (LI) and Woodbridge & Wayne (NJ).
