Hey everyone.

I'm thinking about moving to New York from South Florida in about a year and a half - two years from now (School)

My main question is what an average wage for a culinary school educated and work experienced chef is. I'm not talking about an Executive position but more of a Station Chef

I would like to live in the city! Would it be possible on such a salary?

Thanks in advance

Do you mean any of the five boroughs?

Oops I should have been more clear, I meant Manhattan
But after reading that Party in the South Bronx thread I wouldn't mind living near that area either.

Okay, I'm not too clear on what your salary level would be. Have you tried a site like careerblazers.com or monster.com? Some sites give a city to city comparison of salaries for different occupations. I will say that many people I know of in the culinary field have several roommates in order to afford Manhattan.
