There is a possibility that I might be offered a job working in Manhattan. I've actually never visited, let alone lived, in NYC and surrounding area. Are they any suggestions/advice/recommendations/etc that anyone can offer to help smooth my transition, if I end up moving there? I haven't lived in a city larger than 60-70,000 people but I adjust fairly well to big changes.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Might be offered a job? Hmmmm...

For starters, "cities" no larger than 70,000 are called towns.

Advice... Get the job first.

Good Luck.

Try visiting first... see if you like it? And if you do like it and don't get the job.... quit and find one in NY.

Geez, 70,000 people? You think you can handle change, when you move to a city of over 8 million? Please, visit NYC first. See if you will like it.

Thats going to be a big change. More than you think. But Ive found New York to be real welcoming. Living in a New Jersey city of only 40,000 people and going to NYC doesnt faze me. But i guess thats because i live in an urban area. If you know how to handle yourself in an urban area you should be fine.
