Please forgive my lack of knowledge on this topic but I can't quite work out the situation! I was in NYC last week to find an apartment. My new employer put me in touch with someone he knows who is a top realtor, who gave us the details of one of his employees. She set up the appointments and showed us the apartments and is now sorting out our application for one of the places we saw. She told me who the management company for the rental is and I have found their website. The apartment which we want is on there as a "no fee rental". Under what circumstances would it be no fee? Does this mean that the management company owns it rather than a private landlord using their services? (Sorry, it's completely different in London!!) Does this mean the 15% brokerage fee goes to the lady who is sorting everything out for us? I'm getting very confused about the difference between a real estate agent and a broker!!

Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas!!
