When I first came to the city, I joined the New York Road Runners Club and met tons of people at workouts and races. Then I joined a running team. Almost every weekend someone on the team was throwing a house party. If you are not a runner, perhaps you can check out coed volleyball teams, the Appalachian Mountain Club or the Sierra Club.
