What about this so-called teacher shortage?! =) I guess everyone wants to live in NYC these days. Anyone know anything about teaching in the DC area, VA or MD?

As a mother of a NYC student, I can tell you there is not a shortage of teachers here, just a shortage of good teachers. I wish you luck, but I would definitely look into DC or VA (both beautiful places). I am considering relocating myself, but with the economy in the state that it is, I would have to warn you that if you have some job security, you should just sit tight for a bit.
