i was born in nyc and i don't like living in nyc, everything here is extremely over priced, I lived in florida for about a year and had to come back to nyc due to some medical issues, but if i had the choice to move back to florida i'd leave in a heartbeat, a one bedroom apartment in florida runs you about 650 a month, including cable, internet, a swimming pool, a gym/clubhouse. you can't find that ANYWHERE here in new york city. and atleast the apartments in florida aren't mice/rat infested.

I was born and raised here. I am over it, oh, so over it.
You can have it. I have done the fun things that are no longer here anymore.
but at least they cannot take away my memories.......
ah 54......
West side piers......

I hate with a passion our weather, it is horrible, and as far as culture, I could give a crap.

I am so ready for the warmer slower pace of Palm Springs....Now how many many more days till retirement.........

I've spent 100% of my adult life in NYC so I don't know if you want my opinion but I like it here. There are some horrible things about it. As another poster said, the weather here is horrid. Unlike so many other cities in the world who have 4 seasons, in NYC there are 2 seasons - very hot and very cold! Spring, which is very nice, lasts like 14 days Rush hour in NYC is so not fun.

I so agree. NYC's glory days are long gone. There used to be a certain feeling of excitement in the city, now it's changed. I really hate it here.

And the weather does suck! Badly! I am either freezing or sweating to death! Not fun.

Yes, NY is the most exciting city in the world. It's fun to live here. The only other place I could see myself living in is London, but I don't think I could deal with the rain everyday.

LOL, if you thinkNYC it is fun now, you should have been here back when I was younger, THAT was fun. A big handful of Mega Clubs to choose from, and the list just goes on................

trust me, all us 40 somethings can tell you the fun we had

native here

brutal place. I am so over it too

high taxes, crappy weather, pot holes, lines everywhere. Not many nice things in NYC. If something is nice, we will screw it up over time. Parts of Long Island are nice. The south shore with the sandy beaches are nice. I am so not a subway person. I like to get in my car and get places at my own pace.

Your age is showing. I hate to say it but you might be (mentally) too old for the city.
