Hello group. I was wondering if anyone here is familiar with the general salary range that a medium sized practice starts a medical office manager or practice manager there? I had a hot lead for a position there and once I gave my salary history, BAM they disappeared. I would have assumed it paid better than here in SE VA where our salaries are still equivalent to the stone ages. Thanks!

I believe the typical practice in New York state (including NYC) is composed of an extremely high percentage of Medicaid patients, 2nd only after California. I wouldn't be surprised if salary is low.

Ace Rock, Thanks for your reply. I was afraid of low pay for this position there. I wasn't aware that NYC had such a high percentage of Medicaid patients, but that certainly does lower the wages. You know what stinks? It also increases your work load and difficulty! I am trying to get away from practices that don't want to pay for the work here in VA. I have found that so far Denver offers the most attractive salary for this type of position.
