I am looking for someplace to meet with my girlfriends that has great mexican food and excellent margaritas. Doesn't have to be a huge menu, can be a mexican style snack menu. But also want it to have a loungy, nightclub vibe. Want both. Does that exist anywhere? In the mood for mexican food and margaritas and dancing, don't want to have to travel to 2 different places if I don't have to. Just great places, nothing dingy or iffy. Thanks!

In NYC, there aren't a lot of famous Mexican restaruants that I know of. I never had Mexican food ever in NYC just when I go to the south, but a really good Mexican restaurant that I have heard that people say is really good is www.ArribaArribaWest.com :: Mexican Cuisine in NY :: Arriba Arriba Restaurant Midtown hell' s kitchen in NY :: Web Design & Photography by JMS ART STUDIO by Miguel Saravia is located at Manhattan.

Theres a Great place on Broadway near City College, was pretty well known, and sometimes packed. I forget the name, maybe someone else knows? Its divided into two sections, the right side is more of a bar, the left side is more of a restaurant.

Toloache is not a bad place - near Brodway on 50th. Not much of a "lounge" scene, but good drinks, good food - a bit of a Tapas bar kind of vibe. Can get packed with theater families........

Maz Mescal is Upper East Side - really good food, good margaritas, but again, not much of a "lounge" atmosphere.

I don't know any Mexican restaurants where people dance, but Yerba Buena on Avenue A just north of Houston is close to places where you can dance on the EV/LES.
