Are there any bars in Park Slope (or surrounding areas) that cater to a younger (early-mid 20's), more preppy crowd?
Just went out about 2 weeks ago with a friend in Park Slope, only think there are 2-3 bars there, nothing fancy, I have the impression the median age is approx. 30+. But, again, I´m not local, a local would be able to provide you with insider-knowledge

I'm not sure about preppy, but you'll find several bars that cater to a 20s crowd on Fifth Avenue from Flatbush to at least 9th Street. I'm not sure of their names, but if you stroll on Fifth Ave on a Friday or Saturday night, you'll see lots of young people going in and out of bars and bar/restaurants all along that strip. Pop in to a few and see how you like the crowd.

This is good advice. Also try Smith Street in Boerum Hill / Carroll Gardens. It's a couple of F train stops north of Park Slope or a cheap cab ride. There are a few new "trendy"-looking bars/lounges down there that look like they have a well-dressed crowd.
Commonwealth at 5th and 12th, Buttermilk at 5th and 16th, Bar Reis at 5th and ~7th, Great Lakes at 5th and 1st, Bar 4 at 7th and 15th -- that's a good start. Also technically not in Park Slope, but right nearby and great, is 4th Avenue pub on 4th Avenue and Bergen Street.
