I signed a lease on Saturday and gave my first month and security deposit.
Tonight I just happened to open up streeteasy.com and saw that my exact apartment was listed four days ago by another unknown broker (no affiliation). It does not specify the unit # but based on the pictures, I know its the exact apartment I signed the lease for. If I signed the lease on Saturday, I would assume that it's still possible for any broker to list it as vacant that same day? I started the app process on Wednesday night into Thursday morning, had to clear up the documentation situation on Friday and was approved on Friday afternoon. Wouldn't there be some kind of 'application pending' status? The odd thing is, I've been looking for months, and I NEVER came across that listing.
What is the probability that I might end up not getting the apartment even though I got approved, signed a lease and paid my first month and security?
Is it fairly common to see an apartment posted up on these classified sites as vacant, even after it's been rented?
Am I just neurotic and should not be worrying so much?
Thanks.

If you have sign the lease and have a copy of it, I think you don't have any problems. Also remember that some brokers (a lot actually) post their listing in MLS, this means that other agency can do co-broke, so they try to find people without knowing that the apartment is already out of the market.
wow after u moved in, ppl still had the keys, or u showed them in????

sometimes they dont hav pics of a similar vacant apt i guess
According to my experience it's fairly common for brokers to post an ad with pictures of a different apartment. It's also fairly common to post an ad for an apartment that doesn't really exist. Then when you want to see it they say "this one's taken, but I can show you another one..."
1 came in on Day 1, with their own key, before I had implemented my goal of the day of my own lock above. the 2nd one came in ringing the bell with clients, a few days later. They wanted to see the layout.
