Hi everyone,

I am visiting a friend in Manhattan and it's much cheaper to fly into Westchester Co airport than La Guardia. I am looking online to find the best way to get from the airport to Manhattan, and not having much luck other than taking a Greyhouse bus or using a limo service. Does anyone know if there is a train or shuttle bus of some sort that runs directly from the airport to the city? I've never been there so the easier the better...

Thanks in advance!

Default No shuttle that I know of...

The airport is FAR from the city. The best way to get there would be to take a cab to the white plains train station (maybe around $20-30), and then take the train down (maybe another few $).

If someone knows of a shuttle...that would be of interest to me too...But I doubt it. It's a small airport. If it's not a huge price difference...fly to LGA.

Not that FAR....
About 45 min by car. Otherwise, there is a bus to White Plains train station and from there any train into Manhattan. However, if you don't want to wait for the bus, follow znycgirl advice (taxi fair is lower then $20 and train about $12 for one way non peak time)

Take Jetblue and fly into Newark or LaGuardia or JFK. But if you still want to fly into White plains here are some Links: The New York City Traveler » Transportation 101: Westchester County Airport to Manhattan; Taxi fare in New York from WHITE PLAINS airport, USA to Manhattan, NY, USA - worldtaximeter;

There is a shuttle called AirLink that runs from the airport to the White Plains train station. The schedule is here: http://www.westchestergov.com/beelin...ge/airlink.pdf

From White Plains train station it's about 35 minutes to Grand Central (less to Harlem-125th St) if you catch an express train.

If your flight is too early or late though the shuttle doesn't run all hours, so you'll have to take a cab, which is pretty expensive and might make it just as expensive as flying into LaGuardia anyway.
