Are you just riding to look around just going to ride on paths? Theres really alot of paths going all over the bronx. Serveral go all the way to westchester.
biking in Van Cortlandt park only until a few weeks ago when i started street riding as well. I come out of VC park on that paved path by Dewitt Clinton and I just ride in different directions around the reservoir. it's certainly pleasant during the day riding around Mosholu Pkwy and bedford park and i wanted to go a bit farther. I was on W 197th street by Sedgwick yesterday which was OK but i wondered if Creston and 196th was any worse
is it possible one would actually find an irish or italian longtime resident living in that area(Fo-bedford)? if there were, would it be because they had no means to leave?
is it possible that one would find say an irish reident living on a decent sidestreet in bedford park(say around 200th) who did have the means to leave but instead chose to stay? is it possible that such a person could actually actively enjoy the area and not want to leave? i have read posts of people who recently moved in to bedford Pk and like it so i wonder about long- timers.

Yea, theres a trail that goes from the park to the South county trail, which goes up through Westchester. You could take the Mosholu Prky system to the Pelham Parkway system. Just look for the green circles. That leads to The Huchinson River Path and to City Island and Shore Road.
Heres a map. I did 30 miles yesterday minimal time on street.
you're just the person to ask. how do i get on the greenway off dyckman street" i was there last week under the overpasses and the docks and all i saw was an open fence leading somewhere. was that the entrance to the greenway?
30 miles?! if i do 10 per day i'm lucky! well i'm doing more and i'm getting bolder, biking thru the streets. i am looking for a direct bike route from riverdale to woodlawn thru van cortlandt park but there is none
to ride there on a weekday AM when the kids are in school than on a weekend when they have nothing to do and hang out in the schoolyards, corners and playgrounds
