Hi! Im considereing a move to NYC and i would like to live in manhattan.
Im a single 20 yo male who can speak fluent english and polish and im a travel agent.
I have all the qualifications to work as a travel agent.
If i would find a job that i want (average salary for travel agent in nyc $40,000) Would it be enough to rent a small room in manhattan for not more than $1000/month?
I've seen many rooms for rent for that price in manhattan and just want to know if they are real because i dont know anything about renting in NYC.
I dont know what other expenses should i include
thanks for any help
Really you've found rooms for rent in Manhatten under $1K? I was going to say I doubt you'll find anywhere like that in Manhatten unless you room with a roommate in a crappy area. I'm not sure you want to move to Harlem or the Bronx....Try Queens or Brooklyn but you're going to be hardpressed finding something even halfway decent for $1K a month. $40K a year in NYC unfortunately is peanuts....try craigslist...another expense to include would be a monthly subway pass and try to get an apartment near one. Good luck!
im so happy i went on a street view and these streets look fantastic!! all these tall buildings and stuff ;p i cant wait to live in a proper nyc ;P however im from a small town and $1000 a month seems very expensive for a such a small room, but i guess thats normal in NYC :P
it's kind of funny that the ad says near "penn station and port authority area" b/c penn and port authority are not that close to eachother
well there are only about 6-7 short blocks between them so I guess its not too bad
