I hope you guys can give me some advise.
If work in Manhattan Broadway, I should rent Douglaston or Forest Hills? Do you think both places are safe and convenient?

Broadway is a VERY long street. You'll need to be more specific.

Forest Hills is very convenient if you're going to work in Manhattan. Douglaston isn't, however, since it borders Nassau County and has no train lines.

Forest Hills has very good subway service to Manhattan. There is no subway service in Douglaston.
Forest Hills is a safe neighborhood.

Both neighborhoods are very nice and safe. Depending on your preference, douglaston is more suburbia and with single-family homes and such where Forest Hills is more commercialized being by Queens Blvd and Austin St. There are plenty of shops and restaurants in Forest Hills.

Forest Hills is easier in that it has access to the express subways (E & F), which is about 20-25 minutes into midtown. You can also jump on the express buses as well if you don't like the subway.

Public transportation is more difficult in Douglaston, but I believe there is a LIRR that you can take into Penn St, which takes about 30 minutes I believe.

Subway service is a cheaper option than the LIRR. Also if you are going to be working on Broadway, the R local subway train runs along most of Broadway in Manhattan and its first stop 71st Avenue station in Forest Hills. So you can always get a seat during rush-hour.

Forest Hills has to be one of the safest neighborhoods in the city I would imagine.

BTW, Forest Hills also has a LIRR train station. But still the subway is a better option and there are 4 subway lines at the 71st Ave. station - 2 express & 2 local.

I lived in Douglas Manor for three years, as a teenager. Many, many fond memories.

One of the best neighborhoods in NYC, if you ask me. If you're going to depend on NYC transit, it's a long commute...but if you take the LIRR, you have convenient access to the Port Washington branch, the best in the system...a 40 minute straight shot to Penn.

It depends on what you like. Looking for something more of a suburban lifestyle? pick Douglaston. Like more of a city experience? Forest Hills.
