Why's that? I can't stand the 6 a lot of the time, because it's usually just packed to the brims every time I need to take it.
I have great memories riding the 6 with my big sis when I was a "tweenager" LOL (this was back in the mid-90s by the way), from Chinatown to Grand Central, Parkchester, and Zerega (because we both would walk to Whitestone Cinemas after an awesome time in Manhattan from that station). So I do like the 6 mostly for nostalgic reasons.
I came back and visited NYC in June, and I took the 6 from Bleecker to Canal Street/Chinatown. Brought back the good ole days!
The only downsides to the (7) are the constant overcrowding and the many parents with strollers on the train, especially in Jackson Heights and Corona.
It has to be one of the best lines in the system, though, it is very packed for the most part of the day. I hardley have any problems with the 7, as for being clean, usually this is the case.
The 7 is a good train, and so is the 1. I like the view.
An interesting fact is that the under water tunnels the 7 uses to get from Queens to Manhattan were actually built by the Steinway Piano Company! The grade in those tunnels is sick! At GCT, the Westbound actually looks like its coming out of the floor!
