I'll have a college degree from a reputable university, speak native English, and have a visa (I'm Australian so it's much easier), and I have relatives in New Jersey. Will being foreign make it harder for me to get a job? I'm thinking about finance, specifically, and I won't be out of school until years later, so don't tell me about the recession, please.

Thanks!

If you have a degree, have good grades, have good recommendations from any internships, you should have no problem in finding a job.

Thanks for your reply. So being non-American doesn't really make much difference?

Your visa is not valid for working. It's a tourist visa. To work here you need to have a different visa. Just as American citizens can't pick up and move to Australia, Aussies can't just pick up and legally move to the US.

Yes, it makes a HUGE difference. You cannot legally work on a tourist visa.

If you have a visa that's legal for working, your citizenship should make no difference. The problem would be actually finding the job.

If you have a working visa as a native speaker of English with a college degree, your chances of finding a job are similar to an American.
