@MRSLINDA12 - after all the back and forth the leasing agent sent my paper work to HDC the day before Thanksgiving, 11/24 I think. I just heard back yesterday 1/10/11 that I was approved. I think it may have taken so long b/c of all of the holidays in between. I never heard anything from HDC itself, I guess they just told Knickerbocker it was ok to lease me an apt. I think if the leasing people send your stuff to the city the chances of getting an apartment are highly likely b/c they do (as you know) ask for A LOT of info beforehand. It's just waiting to hear back from the city that could take long, but I'd give it a few weeks at least.

Soound like I might have a good chance Thanks for answering my questions and congrats on your new apartment. When are you going to see it? get the keys?
Does anyone know if they are fully rented? I sent in an application last week and have been talking to girls in the management office that have no clue whats going on.
Just walked by there today and saw that they are opening up a Duane Reade there, not some 99 cent store, supermarket, or laundromat. I see this as a good thing.

I agree, and besides, there's a 99 cent store and a small laundromat across the street north of 163rd St and a Compare supermarket across the street on 3rd Av/162nd St.

The apartments at 440 west 42nd street has contact me and i gave my paper work in today.northrose os considering me for a studio for 838... the one at 42nd street has a 1 bedroom for the same price.....should i wait for approval from related management about the 42nd street one...or just take the studio for northrose because i have been approved. What a dilemma

Well, i got denied because I'm over and under the income for my family size. They had two different income brackets for 3 bedrooms. I guess I'll just have to keep applying.....
@MrsLinda12 sorry to hear you were denied. there are a lot of these new developments being constructed so definitely keep applying.
I saw my apt on Wed and loved it. It's a 2 bdrm deluxe on the top floor so that's good. For those interested I was told the gym would be ready on and opened 1/26. If all goes well I'll be moving in on 1/31.
