update on my NYC visit and the U.S. Open (transfer, shop)

thanks to all who responded prior to my trip advising me on the best mode of transportation to the Open. We stayed uptown at Central Park West area-loved it!!! Ended up taking the subway to 42nd and transferring over to the 7 on the day of the men's finals. Got there and back with no problem--even had seats on the 7!
Rainy days aside-we had a blast in your city.
Found an incredible store,Joyce Leslie, in Soho and had uber fun shopping there.
One of my friends had visited there a couple weeks before my trip and she hated and didn't understand the subway system. I love it and didn't have any problems. I had been there before though and she had not.
I hope to return again soon.
