Just curious..where do you all go that is equivalent to something like Williamsburg. For Queens i was thinking like Astoria, and for Jersey City I was thinking people would say to just go for Hoboken. This info is for recreational purposes so let me know some stories too. Thanks

No, no -- Hoboken is more like Park Slope than Williamsburg. In Jersey City, there are neighborhoods that would remind you of Park Slope, and neighborhoods that will remind you of Williamsburg. There are also neighborhoods that will remind you of Brownsville! (almost). But Hoboken has no Williamsburg-y areas -- Jersey City does.

For Queens ... scratch Astoria and add Long Island City.

Some say the South Bronx is developing an artist scene, but I don't have much first hand knowledge of it.

Hoboken is too nice to be a Williamsburg. Have you been to Billyburg lately? Bad news.

Why are you looking for another Williamsburg? Williamsburg in its current state might not even exist and might be totally different in ten years.

I believe once the economy gets better, Billyburg will pick up once again.

It's just hype. There is one artist studio below the Third Avenue bridge in Mott Haven (right next to a yuppy bar & grill) , that's about it.

In Queens it's obviously Long Island City.
