is there a forum/club or something i can join specifically targeted to those that are new to the city? tons of ppl. move here all the time, so maybe there are some clubs or places where all the n00bs hang out at? lol any hints appreciated.

try typing any of your interests into meetup.com with a NYC zipcode and join some groups.

well i used to be a member of meetup.com back in LA and i tried that route already. the problem is all the members are a lil too old =(

Oh, you may want to look up local kickball /flag football teams. Those are good ways to meet younger ppl. I'm not sure when the new season begins though. Also, research pub crawls, socials, etc. Besides that, it will take time and most likely you'll find friends from your job. Its not very easy here to meet people for some weird reason.

This doesn't even make any sense. How would you know how old the members of meetup.com are in NYC? And I'm quite sure that the age depends on which meetup group you join. I suppose the people who join the "people who love foxtrot in NYC" are going to be a different age than "new moms who are environmentally active."

I made those categories up, but you get the idea. But it's ok if you don't like the advice here. It's free and you are welcome to ignore it!!

That's a great idea - didn't think of the sports aspect -- that will definitely attract a younger crowd.
