Making the move? (New York, York: how much, schools, university)

I have a dream to move to New York City, and I have been thinking about it. I am in college right now studying to be a bioengineer at one of the top 4 engineering schools in the U.S. I would probably get a master's in something related or go to Medical school.

My main question is in which career would I live more comfortably and how much money am I looking at if I were to get a job straight from school? And would I even be able to live comfortably?

I am looking at Manhattan.

The people I know in New York that work in bioengineering, have PhDs, not MAs. They do research.

In terms of earning potential, and MD, depending on speciality, could make much more than a researcher. It all depends on what type of medicine.

Try and set yourself up for a fellowship at Rockefeller University (The Rockefeller University).
