Spanish students moving to NY, is W104th manhattan ave safe? (apartment, to rent) - New York City - New York - City-Data Forum

Hello!

We are 4 spanish student and we are going to be studing in NY this spring.

We found a really nice aparment to rent in W104th Manhattan avenue, but we have never been to new york and don't know if it's a good area,...do anyone know if it is a safe place to live?

I have never been there but, you can take a "walk" around the neighborhood using Google Maps' Street View feature.

Frankly, you should NEVER rent an apartment in NYC without seeing it IN PERSON FIRST. There are many dishonest people who will take your money and you'll have NO apartment!

Viralmd: Thank you very much for the advice, but we are planning to rent the apartment with a real state broker that some of our friends had already worked with and everything was perfect, do you think it is dangerous to pay one month in advance?
