The 2.5 year old child will be turning 3 soon and that means you will want a preschool for him/her possibly with an extended day program since the parents both work. Preschools in Manhattan can be quite pricey and there are waiting lists for schools with top reputations. The other option is to hire a full-time nanny who will take your children to a part-time nursery school program. Keep this in mind when you make your budget. While you are checking out the neighborhoods and the apartments, don't forget to check out the local daycare/preschool options in the area as well.
