Born in Laguardia Hospital - 1991
Lived in Springfield Gardens 1991-1994
Moved to Long Island and was raised here til 2009
Moved back to Springfield Gardens 2009.
Now in college Upstate. I consider LI my home though.
Born in St Barnabas Hospital Bronx in 1966. I only lived in New York City for the first 2 years of my life, but I still consider myself a native New Yorker. I wonder if that's wrong of me! But I still have the 141 SS # to prove it!
I spent many years in New Jersey before escaping to the desert southwest 5 years ago. I say escape because I am mostly grateful for the warm winters I am now blessed with!
I associate myself with New York City even though I lived in New Jersey because virtually all of my dad's side of the family lived in NYC, Westchester or LI, and until the early 1980s, I was a frequent visitor to many of those relatives. Of all the states I've been to, New York is the only other one besides New Jersey where I've been in virtually every corner of the state. Many days I really miss it.
Born in Brooklyn, in Long Island College Hospital, seventeen years ago. My parents were living in Park Slope at the time, but moved out because our landlady didn't like kids. We then lived on the top floor of a large house in Prospect Park South for some time. When I was five, we moved across Coney Island Avenue into Kensington, where I live today. I like it because it's New York, only five minutes from the train and just around the corner from Church Avenue (a great street) and not much of a walk to Prospect Park, which is excellent; however, it's not as dense as Park Slope, where everyone else I know grew up, and so I didn't have to grow up with a bunch of bosom buddies. I wasn't raised as part of a network.
Born in Flushing Hospital in 1983, grew up just north of Queens Blvd. along the Forest Hills/Rego Park border... then lived in Woodside just south of Queens Blvd, then later on 41st Ave by the Jackson Heights/Elmhurst borders. Ended up in Bushwick, Brooklyn with my old lady last year after I lost my job/apartment, which I was not thrilled about at the time, but I've since come to like it here. Still feel like I'm "home" when I go to Queens, though!
Born in Lincoln Hospital in 1982. And Mr. Trinny 33, I grew up not that far from you on Southern Blvd and Home Street. My parents emigrated from Central America to the Bronx in the early 70s (my sis was the firstborn in 1973). I attended CS66 from 1986-94 and IS116 from 1994-1996. On the 4th of July, we moved to the Deep Southern US (time for sweet tea and grits, y'all). I visited NYC for the first time last year. Didn't get to visit the Bronx, although my sister and cousin visited our old neck of the woods in 2007 and according to them, it seemed pretty abandoned. However, I saw a recent Freeman Street subway video and it seems a new building was made and new trees were being planted. Who knows? Maybe it's slowly but surely changed. I would love to visit the Bronx when I fly back to NYC and I'll just see it myself.

You can go "home" again. Click the red marker and select 'street view' it's just like you are in the old neighborhood driving around. If you don't see the link, keep zooming in on the map until it won't zoom any more. I have 'gone home' this way. home st. - Google Maps

Born at Columbia Presb. hospital in Manhattan but lived in the same brownstown in Brooklyn Heights from birth to college. Then lived in Cobble Hill, Park Slope, and other parts of Brooklyn. Left the city 8 years ago and moved to northern Westchester. What I liked most about Brooklyn Heights was the architecture, the promenade, being able to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, and the artsy/funky vibe it had way back in the 70's and early 80's. I go back monthly (family still lives there) and it is still as beautiful as ever but the people are just god awful. I find the area kind of depressing now--the life has been sucked out of it and it has been taken over by souless ghouls...but I'm looking forward to the new park!
