I'm going to moving to New York, tomorrow actually-yikes, and will be staying in temporary apartment for a month or two while looking for a permanent place to stay.
To aid in looking for a place (and other things) I'd like to have internet in the apartment.
Does anyone know of any companies that provide service without a long term contract?

You might be able to get internet dial-up service without a service plan.

ask around the building if anyone is willing to split wireless with you for a few months. Thats what some friends of mine did. Who knows maybe your neighbors will enjoy having half the bill paid for a month

I have DSL through verizon for $19.00/mo - I believe for a year. You could transfer it to your new address when the time comes
