Actually, this is very unusual for my neighborhood. I've lived here 30+ years and this is only the 2nd time I can remember having to wait until the afternoon to be plowed out the day after a storm. The last time this happened was back in 1996 when the City got 2 feet of snow.
Out of curiosity, how much snow fell in Flushing? Because with all the screaming and yelling about accumulations of ten to 18 inches, I can tell you that here in the Midwood section of Brooklyn, we got somewhere between four and five inches. That was all! (Didn't see a single snow plow; none were necessary).

I wondered the same thing when I saw the original post earlier today.I almost advised that she just get in the car and drive because I don't think we got more than 6" in my neighborhood in The Bronx and the streets were practically bare.
This was Bay Ridge this morning. Not too horrible. Did a before & after of my car dig out.
