currently have a plumber working on converting my house from oil heat to gas. Problem is i'm than 150 feet from the gas main and coned wants to charge 25k to lay the 50 of pipe since i'm allowed 100 feet free. Anyone ever experience this? My plumber told me on his previously jobs coned would lay the line for free even thou it was over 100 feet and put out flyers to see if other people in the area would want to switch. He isn't sure why coned all of a sudden wants to charge to lay the gas main. Anyone have any thoughts? advice? this.
