Anyone know of any place I can buy a messenger bag (ie. Manhattan Portage) for less than $50 bucks? Preferably downtown like Canal St.

If you guys can help me that will be good. I need it for work

I bought a cheap messenger bag from one of those street vendors who sells purses. It wasn't a name brand like Manhattan Portage, but it worked for me for about a year until one of the zippers broke- but hey, it was only 20 bucks. He didn't have it "in stock" but had it the next day - he even said I could return it if I didn't like it. The guy set up his table every day a block from where we lived, and my wife bought a purse from him, so he "knew" us.

Check out leiflabs.com . This guy will make you a custom bag and ship it to you. I'm not sure what his price range is, but I know a couple of people who have bought bags from him and they're quite nice.

I found a Messenger Bag on ebay. It seems very durable. But not very big.
