I lived in Parkchester in 1987. At the time , there was a restaurant called Zorros on Ottoman down the block from Macy's. I was planning a trip back out there and wondered whether this place was still in existence. It is where my affair with cheesecake began. Also , I recall a Woolworths across the street. In my current location , all things considered 'old' by a majority of yuppies are torn down and replaced with BS. Anyway , does this place still exist?

Are you talking about the bread/bakery place by Hugh Grant Circle? If so I seen it about a little over a month ago while driving to Bruckner Plaza. I grew up about 10 mins away in Soundview and I too remember that place very well. How long has it been since you last been to the area? Woolworth isn't there anymore obviously, but American Theatre is still there as well

Yeah , it also served pizza and cheesecake.
I haven't been there since '87 , but am planning upon returning this summer.
If my memory serves correctly , the entrance to Parkchester was on the same side of the street as Zorros. I'm glad it is still there. Where I am now is home , but as previously mentioned , they favor cheesy emulations of other cities while demolishing their best historical and good eateries in the name of what they refer to as 'progress'. Is Macy's still there as well?

I think you're looking for Zaro's, and the danger if you like their cheesecake is that they are in other areas of the city as well. So, if you're in Manhattan, or at the train station in Newark, be forewarned -- though I am sure it would be a delicious indulgence at any stop.
