30th Road & Vernon Blvd., Astoria, NY (Queens) (apartment, houses)

Hello,

Just like to ask how is the area at 30th Road and Vernon Boulevard?

Is it a nice, quiet and safe area? Are there any stores nearby, transportation within walking distance? Are there mostly residential homes or apartment buildings?

Any information given is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It's pretty much a quiet area. Kind of mixed in terms of the buildings. There are a lot of private houses on side streets like 30th Rd. with some apartment buildings mixed in and also some industrial buildings here and there. Some blocks are very attractive, others maybe less so. 30th Drive if I recall right has nice brick houses on one side and a big warehouse on the other. There is public housing west of Vernon Blvd on the little peninsula, but that doesn't make it bad.

There are some stores on Main Av/Astoria Blvd. and a couple on 14th St. Not a ton, really. It's a little isolated. There are more stores on the other side of 21st St. The subway is also a pretty long walk (on 31st St.), but there are several bus lines nearby.

The Socrates Sculpture Park is a couple of blocks south of there.

i would live there. its right by astoria houses. close to beautiful astoria park. its definitely a little hood to be sure but nice location by the water
