I tried googling general subway directions but the problem is I'm not sure where the park is located. If I take the N train from 34th/Herald Sq is the Stillwell Ave stop close to the Park? If I need to walk, is the area going to be bad?

Is Dreamworks the name of the new amusement center that's opening this summer (I hadn't heard of that name!) If so, you can take any of the four lines that terminate at Stillwell Avenue--the D, F, N or Q trains--and it'll be right down the street.

Don't worry about feeling unsafe; you'll hardly be alone. It'll be you...and a few thousand other people.

Ah...then someone has a sense of history! (Dreamland was considered to be one of the most awesome amusement centers the world had ever seen. It opened on the Boardwalk in 1904, and burned to the ground as the result of an electrical fire just before opening day in 1911. If you came to New York by boat, Dreamland was what you saw first--not the Statue of Liberty).

Go to Great Adventure instead...no reason to put yourself in danger by going to that place...just my opinion!

Oh and there is no Dreamland Park. It briefly took the place of Astroland Park but was shut down last summer.

From Penn Station - I would take the downtown A C or E to W4th St and go downstairs and hop the Coney Island bound D (DO NOT TAKE THE F...Too many stops)

This way you never have to go above ground in the Brutal Cold....
