Most of the crime in that area is from rowdy Yankee fans especially those of Italian and Puerto Rican descent, those two are the biggest yankee fans. I have been to dozens of yankee games in both old and new stadium and I notice all the fights and indecent trouble that goes in and around the stadium. A couple of weeks ago I was at the Yankee Redsox game and one of the Yankee fans got real hostile and threaten to stab some Boston Redsox after the game, cops quickly removed the rowdy fan. Later that day some guys threaten a Dominican guy for repping Boston redsox, how can you be from the BRonx and represent the Boston Redsox like many Dominicans do which I believe. Any way the rowdy Yankee fans chased the Dominican guy, THe Dominican guy ran for his life up the block back to his neighborhood. IF your a yankee fan like I am you dont have to worry about anyone bothering you!

Is that new or have I just missed it by rarely venturing East of the concourse when I go to Yankee games? This is about the fun city diner, I forgot to quote the previous post.

Default Fun City Diner

is on Sheridan off 161 across from the entrance to Family Court, not really a place yankee Fans would know of since it's small and E of the Concourse

Default about crime in the area

I remember going to a game in July of 1977 with my dad. driving down Jerome Ave around 170th was nothing but abandoned buildings, kids fighting in the street, at one point i heard a loud visceral scream that sounded like someone being stabbed, i remember eating our lunch in the parking lot and talking about how awful the area had become. after the game the cops were in the lot as about 20 cars parked in the lot had their tires slashed(miraculously we didn't)

I had gone to many games in the 70's and 80's. when i moved to Riverdale in 1991, a few years later i had to report for jury duty selection and by then most of those tenements were either knocked down or revitalized. I parked my car in the same lot we parked in 16 years earlier but I didn't fear for my life like i did in 1977. in that way i guess one could say all the changes were a success
