Can anyone recommend a good nail salon, specifically for pedicures? I'm in Boerum Hill but willing to go further out for the right place!

I'm from NJ where I'm used to getting a 45 minute pedi with super long foot/leg massage for $25-$30, which seems to be the equivalant to a "spa" pedicure here that goes for around $60-$70 at least. I know things are more expensive here comparatively, but does a place exist that will at least do a decent massage without shooting up the price too much??

Much thanks!

I can 't recommend anything incredibly close to downtown Brooklyn, but the best pedicure I ever received in NYC was in Bay Ridge. It was located on the east side of 3rd Avenue around 76th or 75th Street. The pedicure was $55 and lasted for almost an hour. It was full service-- they even used a shaver on me.

Do you remember the name of the place?

I don't, unfortunately. If I recall it was the only one on that block.

"...they even used a shaver on me"

This actually isn't a good thing... and illegal in many states! The shaver is a razor blade and can take off a toe in one swipe. Rarely disinfected properly, they actually take TOO much skin/callous off, which you need for protection from walking, high heels, runners, dancers, etc. Also taking too much off will make it grow back thicker and faster.

Please refuse the razor next time!

I personally have never had the shaver thing used on me and am relatively clear of anything that would require a shaver, but thanks for the input, and the recommendations!
