My husband and i have been given the opportunity to move to Staten Island - Princes Bay area, i believe. We live in Jersey now. We will be working at the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan. Before we take this next step w/ our very young son - i'm looking for any info. people can give on the area, crime, etc. We have an apt in mind, but before we say yes, we would like to know alittle about the area. do we get to manhattan by ferry alone, how long would it take, does anyone know of Clearmont Ave - what neighborhood that's in....thanks for anything, whether it be good or bad info!!

Living in Staten Island and working in Manhattan, while a lot of people do it, since I did it many many years ago, at 2 hours each way. I absolutely would not live there.

why Princes' Bay? That's the longest commute. It would be easier on the North Shore

Where in Jersey do you live now? Moving to Northern NJ might be a better bet.
