Going to school in SoHo...where should I live? (Greene: rent, neighborhood)

I don't want the commute to be any more than 30 minutes!!!!

I don't want to spend over $1,500....preferably not over $1000

I'm considering getting a roommate (probably will)

I'd like to live in a neighborhood close to SoHo, if not SoHo itself

I've also looked into Williamsburg

So I'm wondering, where do you think I'd get relatively low rent with little commute?

Sharing a 2BR in Clinton Hill or Fort Greene might fit your budget of $1,000 each. At 2 x $1,500 you will have plenty of options - East Village, Lower East Side, Williamsburg, Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, possibly even Park Slope, to name a few.

What are you looking for, except low rent and short commute?
