I don't get why people from TX (my home state) are making fun of NY'ers on this, since the temp at 6:25 AM in Central Park today was 85 and felt two degrees warmer. The highest low in San Antonio last summer (very brutal) was around 82. If my A/C broke that night, I don't know what I would have done.
When I got into my car this afternoon I burnt my hands on the steering wheel. (seriously, not kidding) I got into my car for my lunch break during work, I immediately turned on a/c and went to pull away my hands were BURNING the first couple of minutes.
Yes, here in NY it is mega hot, but on the news this morning they tell you not to run appliances, or A/C if your not home, obviously no one should use a dryer....but they want us to conserve energy, well,
How about making offices in NYC mandatory closing at 3 pm, so they can save a load of electricity, but no...that will never be done, they want us to shut our A/C, and use less appliances....heaven forbid the working class person can ever benefit from something.
