It seems that NY has redone the site and search database, I just found 2 listings both deceased and aunt and an uncle. These listing were not there on prior searches.

https://ouf.osc.state.ny.us/ouf/

Just try the first 2 characters of your last name this way typos can be found. It's too bad they don't let you search a specific address.

I also found a listing for a friends husband.

Happy hunting

Default Let me know if I helped

191 people looked at this was there any success?

During my successful searches I came across a listing of a person with the same name as my grandfather it was a priest and there were 13 different listing which I suspect were substantial because of the financial institutions reporting them. Long story short the priest past away so I found the obit call the funeral home and left my contact info for his brother a day or two later his brother contacted me. His brother is also an elderly man and I explained what I found. He asked how I knew the priest and I stated I did not know him but he was a priest who I assume gave of himself all his life and I wanted to also give, by contacting and mailing the forms to the brother, because he admitted to not knowing how to use a computer.

The only request is that he let me know his success.

He did start to cry which made it awkward for a moment but it felt good.

What is the saying "pay it forward" ..

Old thread, but why start a new one?

Success!

Found some names in NY
deceased father (I am currently making a claim.)
living cousin (from 1988)
living brother (from 2012)
living sister-in-law (in her maiden name)

Found some names in FL
deceased aunt
deceased uncle
living cousin

Found some names in NJ
too many to mention but they include living and deceased persons

I'm making a list of people to email. No reason to keep this info to myself, and who doesn't like being the bearer of good news?

I used: NAUPA and MissingMoney.com Unclaimed Property FREE SEARCH - Officially endorsed By The States, Provinces and Naupa for the searches. With some States, the searches have to be done separately on that particular States' Comptrollers' website. MissingMoney will search a bunch of States at once.

Good luck searching!

I'm glad to read you have had success, yeah

Now add to the search the US treasury hunt. Individual - Treasury Hunt®

You need ss# to do this so it may not be as easy.
