Does anyone know of any websites or books on field grass identification? My property is in East Worcester and I think some fields were reseeded before I bought it.

Does the DEC have a service?

Thanks

I use Grasses: An Identification Guide, by Lauren Brown
Amazon.com: Grasses: An Identification Guide (Sponsored by the Roger Tory Peterson Institute) (0046442628815): Lauren Brown: Books

It's best to use that when they are in flower. It's the book I was recommended by the Corps of Engineers folks I took wetland training from.

Perhaps a neighbor with grass-fed cattle or an extension agent ( Local Offices ) who would have a better feel for what the grasses look like without flowering could help. Not likely the DEC.
