I just moved to Suffern. Literally finished the entire move yesterday. I went the co-op route, HOAs are quite affordable for a 1 bedroom co-op.

Congrats! to you. Are you in the Bon Aire development? I thought about condos / co-ops also but didn't find anything to meet my needs.

Wish you all the best! I've been looking hard for about 45 days now with my realtor. She keeps telling me to have patience while my SO is getting frustrated and tired of the hunt.

Thanks, Titus. Yeah, Im in Bon Aire. I think Bon Aire has some of the best values in Rockland. Great place to live.
Definitely be patient. It took me months of doing research, crunching numbers....once I made an offer, the process was painfully slow. Well worth it in the end, though. Between mortgage and HOA fees, Im paying LESS than I was paying in rent in Pomona.

I thought Pomona was cheaper than in other villages in Rockland? I saw on some real estate sites the property taxes we're much lower than say Nyack or suffern......

Villages within a town may have additional taxes, I know Nyack does. Pomona is located in both the towns of Haverstraw & Ramapo, that may explain why the taxes appear cheaper. I believe Haverstraws tax rate is lower than Ramapo's
