We recently moved from Beekman, don't let Greenhaven bother you - it really doesn't affect the resale value. We lived in Beekman for over 20 yrs and there was never a problem as far as the prison goes - they may have had some internal problems such as food-fights etc. from time to time, but nothing that had any impact on the community. Honestly, you really don't even know it's there. Check out realtor.com for the 12570 area and you'll see what the houses are going for.

Good Luck - it's a great area to live, we only moved to get away from the snow because we're getting too old to shovel any more

Future resale?? If you buy today you're going to lose money.... alot of it. Dutchess is ground zero for the housing bubble regionally.
