My wife and I are considering a potential relocation to Rockland County from Denver, Colorado. The office is in Pearl River, and we'd appreciate suggestions on good areas that are within a 25 minute commute.

We are in our mid thirties, with no children. We currently live in a neighborhood in central Denver with a great park and restaurants within short walking distance. Would like a good community, preferably where we can walk to central shopping district.

We prefer a single family home (or townhome if it has a small yard for the dog) at or below $500k.

Please provide opinions.

Nyack, Piermont and perhaps Suffern. Pearl River might actually work too.

In addition to CKH's suggestions, look in to Stony Point (in Rockland County) as well as Bergen County, NJ. Montvale, NJ sounds like a perfect fit for you.

Good point about Bergen County. Montvale is so close that many of the students that attend St. Joe's High in Montvale come from Rockland County.

Stony Point doesn't have a walk around downtown.....Hillsdale NJ, Pearl River come to mind.
