I'm open to SUNY and CUNY schools, public and private schools as long as they have dorms and are within 4 hours of the city, looking into NJ/ PA too. I never seem to get a lot of answers.... here is a little bit about me.

I am a junior
Female/ Hispanic
93.5 GPA (freshmen, sophomore, and 1 quarter junior year)
Very involved in Community Service
Secretary of girls to ladies group (in school and non profit group)
100+ volunteer hours

If you need anything else just let me know

I want to major in education, not sure what field either english adolescent education or childhood education, with a minor in psychology (may change)

I've looked at:

CUNY City College
College of Saint Rose

Looking into:

Saint Johns University
SUNY Cortland

Not interested in: (to get an idea)

The college of Saint Rose (too small)
Le Moyne (To far)
CUNY Hunter (BIG housing issue)

Thanks for any and all help!

So, St. Rose is out or in? LeMoyne is about 4 hours. Cortland may fit. St. John's may work too. Utica College could be another to consider.

Saint rose is out. My high school has 4000 kids so saint rose felt like a high school to me.

Perhaps SUNY-Oneonta would be another to consider.

I know a number of people who've attended St Joseph's in Patchogue on Long Island (also located in Brooklyn) for childhood education. I don't know if there is on campus housing in Patchogue, though.

Adelphi University

Columbia university
Metropolitian college of ny (no housing primarily older adults) and general education degree.

Check the library for books on colleges and universities. That can help a lot it lists Majors And all the basics about the schools.

Default Looking for colleges

Some possibilities include:

Hartwick College or State University at Oneonta...both in Oneonta
Binghamton University, in Binghamton
University of Scranton or Marywood College, in Scranton, PA
Kings College or Wilkes College, in Wilkes-Barre, PA
Elmira College, in Elmira
Hamilton College, or Colgate University, in Hamilton, NY

Lots of possibilities. Need to closely examine your educational needs, priorities, goals, and finances. Probably the biggest bang for your buck is Binghamton University, in Binghamton, New York. A consistently highly rated, and affordable university, well worth a close look. Only a couple of hours from New York City.
